The managed care desktop is a ‘decision support portal’ designed specifically to address the managed care environment. The managed care desktop loads encounter data, capitation fund data, and organizational data into a data warehouse where the data is consolidated and evaluated based on managed care performance criteria.   Any exceptions or notifications from this evaluation are sent directly to the appropriate organizational ‘players’ and information in the data warehouse is made available to managed care administrators, physician practice managers, and departmental personnel for analysis and reporting purposes.
